Legal Terminology and Usage:

For Court Reporters and Paralegals

Who doesn’t need a legal word defined with an explanation of the meaning and accompanied by examples? A mere definition often does little to clarify the meaning of the word. For example, under the term contract, if gives the case of Tom Horsley who made a date, and when the date failed to show up, he sued claiming breach of contract. The damages were tickets he bought for the evening. It is the explanations after the definition that make the words come alive and provide understanding.

Often legal terms have technical differences between them. In such cased, charts, diagrams, and forms make the terms clear and understandable.

As one Department chair said,

“infrequently you run across a truly superior book that makes the teacher’s job much easier and is so naturally suited to the students and their needs, that you can’t wait to tell others about your find.”

You don’t need to be in a class to have a handy reference guide. Besides it also helps provide an understanding of parts of the law and to apply to situations you encounter.
